But as situations improved, everything started once more, but changes were introduced in the rules and regulations of the immigration procedures.

Australia Immigration Options

There was some respite for the immigration industry after the new Department of Home Affairs (DHA), Australia, announced their new guidelines in April 2020. The new policies were introduced because of the circumstances that came with the COVID 19 pandemic, which claimed thousands of lives and impacted businesses all over the world in the worst ways. For several months, there were travel bans imposed by the Australian Administration. The offshore visa holders who were on Temporary Skill Shortage Visa-subclass 482 could not return to the country. On the other hand, students who left for home countries after completing their semesters were also stuck. They were advised to inform their universities and institutions and attend online classes.

But after situations improved and people started getting vaccinated, the Australian government began allowing immigrants once more. But the people who wanted to immigrate had to follow specific immigration rules and regulations. If you want to immigrate to Australia from some other country, you can seek the help of Migration lawyers Perth. But yet, you must be aware of the basic requirements.

Things You Will Need To Travel In Australia

  1. Australia Travel Declaration

The Australia Travel Declaration takes your contact details in Australia, along with flight details, health status, and quarantine requirements. You will have to complete the Australia Travel Declaration at least 72 hours prior to your scheduled flight. If you do not complete the declaration, you would not be allowed to board your flight, or you might experience delays after you reach Australia. Flight crews, foreign diplomats, people traveling on military flights, and people immigrating by sea will not be required to complete the Australian Travel Declaration.

In the Australia Travel Declaration, you will have to provide your passport details, Trip information, destination details, and contact details. You will have to create an account in which you can manage your current and future declarations in one place. Once you apply, you would not be able to correct it, and you will have to delete that application and create another one. In case of a change in your flight, health status also you will have to create a new application. The Australian Visa lawyers can help you in completing this application procedure successfully.

2. Pre-departure COVID-19 test

You will need a negative COVID-19 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test result for immigrating to Australia. Unless you have taken a quarantine-free flight from New Zealand, you will have to produce the airlines with a COVID negative PCR test that has been taken 72 hours before your scheduled departure time. You will have to wear masks throughout the entire time and all the international flights and in the airports. There are some pre-departure testing exemptions for the following people:

  •  Children under five years at the time of check-in for the scheduled flight departure will be exempted.
  • Travellers on a designated green safe travel zone flight will not be required to produce a PCR negative result.
  • If COVID-19 PCR testing is not reasonably available in your country, then the exemption will be determined by Australia’s Director of Human Biosecurity.
  • People who can present a medical certificate stating that they cannot undergo a COVID-19 PCR test.

You will also require some of the crucial documents like a valid visa to enter Australia, an exemption to Australia’s travel restrictions, authority to enter Australian states or territories. These documents will have to be presented during your check-in at the airport and when you arrive in Australia.
